Testimonials
Here are some testimonials from some of our very satisfied clients.
“My wife and I went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time and did some tours including zip lining, party cruise, and a volcano safari tour. The best one by far was the zip lining, mainly due to our tour guide Kim Marius. My wife and I was a little nervous because it was our first time. He made us feel extremely comfortable and was there with us the entire time. Kim treated us like family from the very beginning. A few days later we contacted Kim to take us the the Seafood Festival. Again, he was with us the entire time. I’ve been to Jamaica, St. Maarten, Domican Republic, and The Bahamas, and went on tours on all the islands. Kim was the best tour guide I’ve ever had on vacation. He made us feel like we were family and his main concern was that we enjoyed our vacation and had a good time. I wish every tour guide was like Kim. If you’re ever in St. Lucia, I highly recommend you contact Kim Marius.”
“Kim was a great guide for our tours of the St. Lucia. He took us on a hike to discover a wonderful waterfall in the Enba rainforest. Along the way he revealed many hidden treats – fragrant tree saps, a gorgeous waterfall, flowers, and an exciting (but safe) view of a boa snake(!). He kept our minds engaged with stories of ways of the island and its people, and later nourished us with a bouffet (included in the excursion) served from a balcony of a great restaurant overlooking the Petons and Soufre.
The guides Kim worked with him were just as open, warm and knowledgable too. We were led through the marketplace of Castries, a tasting of rums and local delacies. We later indulged in the volcanic mud bath known by locals for its medicinal qualities, then washed that off in the hot springs.
The experience felt like spending time with a friend who was showing us his hometown. A great time and highly recommended!”
“We have thoroughly enjoyed a holiday for two weeks in St Lucia where the entire programme was managed by Barefoot.
Kim was responsible for our group with another local guide for the 14 days and he did an excellent job. Each day was explained in detail and questions answered. He proved to be extremely knowledgeable about the natural history of St Lucia and was enthusiastic to share this knowledge with his visitors.
Kim showed a great sense of humour; he demonstrated a duty of care for all the members of our group; on our free days he presented us with many options and took care to see that we were confident in our choices (even giving us a mobile phone in case we needed to contact him when out walking on our own!)
During the fortnight we explored Castries, many small villages, the rain forest and the plantations, the coastline and the mountains. Kim was well prepared for (almost) all eventualities and made a large contribution to an unforgettable holiday.”
“Kim is the ultimate tour guide, knowledgeable but not boring with too many facts, friendly, witty, personable, great with kids( come back to this later) and above all exceedingly patient with the numerous questions posed to him from the old and the young alike.
As a single mother I was accompanying my daughter and son on their school tour to St. Lucia. Included in the package was a trip to Soufriere the only drive-in active volcano. At no time did we feel as if we were a bother to him, he clearly loves his country and people and that was reflected in his answers. One could not imagine that that was the 1000th time that he was relaying the facts about the fauna and floral, and folklore about St. Lucia. So enthusiastic was he that at the end of the day not only did we all want to return to the island for a longer visit but the inimitable Kim was everyone’s best friend!
One incident in particular stood out. Both my son and I suffered from motion sickness on that particular trip to Soufriere. Twisting, winding roads, hairpin bends traveling up to 8,000 ft and the sulphur smells from the volcano had me practically nauseated. My son was not feeling well either and clearly wanted comfort from me but I literally was in worst shape than he was. Kim saw this and distracted my son successfully from his condition by giving him a piggy back ride and carried him off to explore formations on a trail. My son forgot about crying on my shoulder and I got a little reprieve to try and recover myself. Kim has my eternal gratitude for that simple act of kindness that turned my little boy’s school trip from disaster to adventure.
KIM – not just a tour guide but a good friend.
